Madame Gandhi

These days, feeling like you're part of something new, a shift
in sound, or a new time stamp on a long-running history is rare air—
but not impossible. Splice's New.Wav Award is reserved for
an artist whose unique fingerprint is pushing the boundaries of frequencies.
This year, that artist is Madame Gandhi. The producer, musician,
former M.I.A. drummer, and Harvard M.B.A. is currently at
Stanford's Masters in Music Science & Technology program.
There, she's exploring new ways to push the boundaries of sound,
including building underwater microphones—opening the door
to a whole new landscape of potential noise.
