Any artist will tell you, it’s the fans that keep the flame hot.
And producers might feel at home behind the board, but their
impact on our ears is anything but subtle. Splice’s Fan Favorite
Award is handed to the crowd-favorite producer—voted for and
selected by music creators from around the world. This year’s
Fan Favorite winner is Toronto-based musician and producer,
The Kount. This year The Kount produced Noname’s “Rainforest,”
which made waves in the music scene for its message and was
called “Revolutionary music you can dance to” by RollingStone.
The underground beatmaker is on the rise and making a name
for himself for releasing beat videos, sharing sample packs,
and encouraging other artists to pursue their music. The Kount is
clearly a man of the people, and the Fan Favorite Award is the
young king’s crown.
